Safe Urban Driving courses hit mainland Europe

International mapFORS continues to extend its benefits to operators throughout the UK, and now to operators further afield on the European mainland. Our Safe Urban Driving (SUD) courses specifically are an extremely effective tool for drivers in towns and cities, whether at home or abroad.

Trawöger, our first overseas FORS-approved trainer, recently successfully delivered its first Safe Urban Driving course of 2017, with 13 drivers from the Germany-based FORS Bronze accredited member, Transport Service Beitinger receiving the training.

SUD courses are an essential training tool for any HGV drivers operating in the urban environment and where there are high volumes of vulnerable road users. SUD training is Driver CPC accredited and fully aligned to meet the requirements of:

  • Contractual Work Related Road Risk (WRRR) requirements
  • FORS Silver accreditation
  • Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) Standard

SUD is delivered in two sections; a classroom theory module and a practical cycling module, where drivers experience a cyclist’s view of the road.
