Thousands of drivers better qualified after taking FORS training courses

Thanks to FORS training courses and online learning, tens of thousands of drivers are now better equipped to tackle difficult urban driving conditions. To date over 23,000 drivers have attended Safe Urban Driving (SUD) courses, and over 43,000 drivers have been through the FORS eLearning courses.

The courses teach essential skills to drivers of commercial vehicles who operate in urban or high volume areas. Teaching is aimed at coping with high volumes of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists. Safe Urban Driving training is DCPC accredited and meets the requirement of both the FORS Silver standard, CLOCS standard and Work Related Road Risk.

In order to meet the FORS Standard, companies are required to demonstrate that they have plans in place to ensure all drivers and managers undergo approved and progressive training. FORS offers these courses free of charge to operators and drivers, to ensure drivers are constantly improving their driving skills.

Records of FORS trained drivers can be found online.
